Automotive Die Casting

This photo depicts a robotic material handling cell designed and built for a large, Tier 1 automotive die casting client. The cell includes automatic vibratory bowl feeding of bolts to a nest to facilitate robotic transfer of these parts to a die cavity. The bolts are then cast in place, making an engine accessory bracket. The robot has a two sided gripper, one side unloads the completed assembly, then rotates 180º and inserts the next set of bolts into the die cavity. The robot then dunks the assembly in a quench tank and places it on a takeaway conveyor.
